Unfortunately, the costs for this kind of care add up quickly. Our medical bills are our largest ongoing expense. In addition, we must purchase the food, supplies and other items necessary to continue providing a high standard of care to our animals. We feed only no-byproduct foods from small suppliers. We use

We gladly accept donations of cash or in-kind goods and services. There are many ways that you can help us to keep our doors open and our animals healthy. And don’t forget, donation of your time as a volunteer (link to Volunteer page with active and static rollover) is incredibly valuable to us as well!
Sponsor an Animal
For those who would really like to play an important role, but are not able to adopt or volunteer, sponsoring an animal is a great alternative. Sponsoring a specific animal will help us to continue to provide the high standard of care the animal needs until we can place him or her with a forever family. Animals with health or age considerations are often the hardest to place and most in need of sponsors. Here are just a few of our longer-term residents:

Maddie |
Maddie, a Russian Blue cat, is the survivor of a broken pelvis and tail that the vet surmised was caused by a human kick. She is now a beauty with a half-tail and gorgeous coat, but her shy nature means she is waiting for a patient, calm home without a lot of other animals.
Molly is a lovely cat: black, silky fur, wide gold eyes, a affectionate nature...and only three paws. Yet in spite of missing a back foot, Molly is generally to be found running around the rescue receiving pats and snacks. She will be a wonerful companion for any family, but for now she is still waiting for a permanent lap of her own. Perhaps you'd like to sponsor our three-legged friend.

Cujo |
Cujo is a Netherland Dwarf rabbit. A jogger found him as a baby, alone in a cage in Griffith Park. We treated him for mange, and he is now gorgeous and feisty. His territorial habits make him a companion best suited to someone with space to watch him play and romp.

Pearl |
Pearl's last stop before Santé D'Or was a cage in a garage and this made her behave in a hostile way. She was not only dangerously
obese, but also confused and angry about the many transitions she had gone through. When she first arrived, we had to keep all other cats out of view and wear heavy-duty gloves just to feed or clean her litter. Now after much attention and dietary adjustments, Pearl is sociable and even has a few favorite volunteers she will claim the laps of for petting and chats. She may never end up the life of the party in a home where there's a lot of animals and small children, but we know the right family is out there for her. In the meanwhile, won't you consider sponsoring this brave rehabilitated example of what patience, love, and a natural diet can do?
Suggested Levels of Sponsorship:
$25 (one month, recurring for amount of months you specify)
$45 (one spay/neuter)
$52.63 (the average cost of a month’s supplies per animal!)
$100 and up: “Top Cat” and “Big Dog” levels of sponsorship include invitations to our fundraising events and more!
Honorary/Memorial Contributions
You can make a donation in honor of or in memory of someone, and we will send a personalized card acknowledging your gift. Please provide the name and address of the person to whom we should send the acknowledgment card.
Help Us Pay Our Bills
Since we are a no-kill rescue, we often spend large amounts rehabilitating animals who would otherwise have been put down at a shelter. And our more mature animals tend to have increased medical needs, just like human beings do. We therefore generally have a large running medical bill with our vets. If you would like to fund this or any of our other ongoing bills, please specify what you would like your donation to go toward:
• Veterinary bills
• DSL
• Web hosting
• Parking space for staff
Buy a Gift Certificate:
As part of our philosophy, we like to engage with the community and give local businesses our support. We can always use
supplies from these local stores. We love to receive gift certificates from:
• Tailwaggers
• Whole Foods
• For Pets Only
• Collar and Leash
• Nature Mart
• Trader Joe’s
Re-use, Recycle
If you have extra animal supplies at home, please donate them to us to use for our rescued animals. You are welcome to bring them during our adoption hours. Please be sure that your supplies are clean and ready to use! We always need:
• Clean old towels, blankets, small rugs that can be used to make beds
• Flea combs, brushes, nail trimmers
• Bowls for food and water: ceramic or enamel
• Newspaper to line cages
• Used or New X-Pens (Small, Medium or Large)
• Used or New Carriers (Small, Medium or Large)
• Heating pads
• Toys for cats and dogs
• Leashes, collars and harnesses (new only)
